Which Campaign to start as Necro
**EDIT** sorry, I did search for this question earlier and came up with nothing. Just found it asked and answered deeper in forum" sorry for posting a quesiton already asked. Please delete thread if you wish***End Edit***
First time poster. I've been looking at starting a Necro and was wondering if I could get suggestions on which campaign would be the best to start in as a Necro to get the most skill benefits. I like the nightfall campaign, but it looks like alot of builds take from Factions.
I have all 4 campaigns, Nightfall is the only one I'm about to complete with a Dirv so far.
Thanks in advance for everyones input. These forums are such a great wealth of info and Ive only been reading them since yesterday.

Well, it depends on a lot of things. What line are thinking of going? I have most experience with Curse's, and Proph has my fav. skills.

There is no "best campaign" to start a character in, it all depends on your playstyle, and what you want your character to look like.
If you like to play slowly, start at Prophecies.
Like to zoom to the top, go with Factions.
Like a little bit of balance, but don't mind a little extra time spent on getting SS points? Go with Nightfall.

personally i would go with factions first, due to easy ish and fast levelling,if you have all campaigns chances are your going to cross continent anyway. ie:go to NF/EOTN for heros,if your just a casual player (dont farm/arent rich) i would think carefully about which role you would want to play first and have easier access to elites, rather than spending 8-10k on elite tomes
a few of the mainly used elites (can all be tome unlocked of course)
blood magic
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Spoil_Victor (factions,common for 55 farming builds)
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Blood_Is_Power (all campaigns, usually a party support battery build)
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Order_of_the_Vampire (props, commonly used(or was) for B/P teams in TopK)
death magic (minions)
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Animate_Flesh_Golem (factions, high lvl minion, but not that great, better using jagged bones as your elite imo)
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Jagged_Bones (NF+EOTN)
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Order_of_Undeath (NF)
curses
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Spiteful_Spirit (very commonly found in curses builds)
and the creme de la creme
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Assassin%27s_Promise (great for complimenting the generally high recharge times of curses builds, doesnt really need points pooling into deadly arts. if you have quick reflexes you can catch easily within 5 seconds of death)

If you're not used to other MMORPG's, start in Nightfall; Factions is an ok choice but hero skill points and a head start on Sunspear points are nice, and Prophecies level progression makes me feel like stabbing myself in the eyes repeatedly. If you are used to other MMORPG's, Prophecies level progression will probably be perfect for you.

id say prophecies for the skills from quests(so you dont have to buy them, yea i know im cheap :P), also for Spiteful Spirit (arguably the best elite in the game) and its not like it takes THAT long to progress through the game. If you really want heros then just go to NF once you get to LA, its not like anything in proph is challenging to the point where you need heros up until LA.
Also, personally i think Tyrian necros look the best.

Here is how I see it. If you like to take your time, get a lot of the skills, and learn how to efficiently play a necro, go prophecies. If you want to get level 20 quickly, go nightfall. But if you want titles, survivor, or any other things along those lines, go nightfall.

fix'd.
well, everyone else has it right. Proph = slow, easy learning curve, Factions = fast, steep learning curve, NF = a balance but a teensy bit more grind.

thanks
Thanks. I started one in Proph. It is strange when your used to NF, not having a hero to tank for ya. I keep thinking, hey I can take on those 3-4 guys easy. woops, no I can't. Makes me think more about how to pull each mob or kill, run, heal, kill, run, heal.

Factions imo.. Fast and easy.. You can also get some decent elites quite early. And as a bonus.. Factions male/ female necros both have nice hairstyles ;p.

QFT.
Factions is basically the jumpstart campaign, and it has a lot of very good necro elites just by following the campaign.

I say proph, because some of the early skills are really usefull, and you'll end up having to buy them if you start anywhere else.

Well.. you could always tome them... Perhaps its less costly to do it proph way.. but it takes a hella time longer to build a good nec and.. well.. time = money ;p. Pre proph is also a pain.. lol... Imo most decent skills come from slightly later in proph.. I mean after LA so.. you might as well faction it, jump to LA get to ember light camp.. and then pickup some decent skills from there. Perhaps it'l still cost money.. but under 1k per skill if you buy only the skills for 1 decent bar.
Its really just what campaign you like playing through though.. cus really youl get the same result at the end anyway. Im just a factions person ;p, which is why all my chars are from Factions other than my Ldoa.

Regardless, NF necros are ugly, so choose Factions or Proph.

Eotn is the best for survivor actually...
A)You get attributes of a level 20.
B)Kilroy Stonekin's dungeon in HM nets 26k exp per run without exp scrolls. Use 50% scroll and u get 39k exp per run. Use 100% scroll and u get 52k exp per run. Use triple exp scroll and u get 78k exp per run. You also get Delver points ;p. On top of all that, if u get KO'd u get revived by clicking on the energy button. So even if u lagg, hopefully u will still live ;p.
